Reading the Atelier's Shelves

Few things feel less elegant than a promise of endless supply. A garment made in limited quantities carries a different weight, and at Coemi Lingerie, the word stock refers to something you can actually trace: a piece that sits on a shelf in the atelier, finished, inspected, and ready to be wrapped. Nothing more, nothing less.

The house releases two collections per year — one for the colder months, one for the warmer. This rhythm has little in common with the weekly churn of high-street fashion. It leaves room for fabrics to be chosen properly, for seams to settle, for a lace trim to be matched to a cuff without hurry.

Two States, Clearly Named

When you browse a piece, you will encounter one of two phrases. The first is Available in stock. This means the garment physically exists in the atelier and can be dispatched the same day, Monday to Friday. Quantities remain deliberately small, so a second order may occasionally claim the same piece before yours is complete. If that happens and the materials are still on hand, the atelier makes the item for you at no additional cost. If the fabric is gone, you are informed within 24 hours and refunded that same day.

The second phrase is Available to order. Here, nothing has been sitting in a box. Your order triggers the individual production of the piece, which adds roughly 5 to 7 days before dispatch. The same European materials are used. The same hands cut and sew. Only the timing changes.

What This Means for Your Choice

Transparency about stock allows you to read a product page with confidence. A long-sleeved dressing gown in viscose satin and lace marked as in stock will leave the atelier quickly. The same gown in a less common size may need those extra days of making. Neither path alters the garment itself.

This distinction also shapes how you might approach gifting or planning. A mid-length micromodal nightshirt with lace chosen for a specific weekend will fare better when marked in stock; a cobalt blue micromodal slip with an embroidered neckline ordered well in advance can accommodate the production window without stress.
